Effective Presentation Development and Delivery Skills

Learn, or improve… there is always something we can learn or improve on!

How to maximise the effectiveness of your presentations, whether it is a  short 15 minute management presentation or a 5 day training course, the principles are the same…

This training  session will give you the skills to create and deliver effective  presentations; as a result, attendees of your presentations will leave brim full of the information you wished to communicate, appreciative of the time they spent with you, will regard you as an effective and dynamic communicator and educator, and will embody the knowledge and skills that they came for!

There are two parts to every presentation:

1)  CONTENT: Usually visual power point, with additional written materials for the attendees created by you, and based on your knowledge and expertise of the particular subject matter.

2)  DELIVERY: The actual delivery of the material in an effective and engaging manner that empowers and excites the attendees and leaves you with a great feeling of satisfaction.

In the Content section you will learn how to:

  • Make use of the way  in which humans absorb, learn and remember information 
  • Organise the knowledge/skills you want to present  into a logical flow of information
  • Break that information into manageable 'chunks' so that it is easy to teach
  • Create visually interesting slides
  • Avoid forward referencing
  • Create multi-level layers of detail
  • Use goals and reviews to enhance learning
  • Design hands on exercises to verify knowledge/skills
  • Create the timing for a presentation to suit human needs

In the Delivery  section you will learn how to:

  • Understand how humans process information and knowledge
  • Respect your attendees and understanding their needs
  • Ensure your attendees remember what you teach them
  • Make sure that your attendees understand what you teach them
  • Make it fun and exciting for your attendees and keep their attention
  • Keep to the plot and the time line
  • Ask and answer questions
  • Avoid the things that you must never do as a presenter!!
  • Get useful feedback from your attendees

Networking for Business

Develop effective strategies and the confidence to implement them when networking to promote yourself, your business, product or service, via day to day contact, as well as purposeful attendance at organised events.

To implement change one must first identify the changes required and the anticipated outcome. Only then are we able to facilitate change - by driving a shift in the way in which we view the world, a change in how we deal with our expectations and the way we communicate and interact with one another - leading us ultimately to a new perspective, renewed enthusiasm and new successes.

  • Address these commonly asked questions: Why Network? What’s In It for Me? Identify your purpose for attending Networking events
  • Communication and language including Body language
  • It’ Not What You Know… How often have you heard the saying ‘It’s not what you know, but who you know’!   People will make all the difference to your business’ success!

  • Turning Contacts into Clients:  So you have their contact details – what now?! 
  • Develop an ongoing dialogue and a relationship with people you have just met.  Understand the value of 'Two-Way Referrals'

How successful can a business/organisation be when you regularly have members of staff away from work due to illness?  A healthy workforce is not only essential it can make the difference between profitable and not…

The cost of employing a temp to fill the position left unattended due to illness can be critical to a business, but when you cannot replace that person with a temp and a critical role or project is left unattended due to illness this can cause irreparable discontent between you and your clients – even worse it could mean the loss of clients/projects when key people are not available to provide continuity and knowledge.
